Treusacher, who was the second-round draft choice of the Boston Minutemen of the rival NASL, was a Brown University All- American.
Brown were the Eastern Championships in 1973. The team: also competed in the NCAA Championships in Miami, losing 3-1 to champion St. Louis University.
Treusacher, who was All-Ivy and All-New England twice, has played fullback and forward, but coach John Bertos said he expected him to be up front with Barbosa and Alves for the Astros.
Barbosa and Alves were both named ASL All-Stars the past two seasons.

Oceaneers and Astros to tangle in playoffs
The Rhode Island Oceaneers and the Boston Astros open the American Soccer League playoffs Wednesday.
The scene of the one game duel will be Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, home of the Oceaneers who edged the Astros there on Saturday.
The battle between the New England rivals will get underway at 7:30 p.m. Pierce Stadium is off Route 195.
The Oceaneers will be meeting Boston for the third time this season.
On July 6, the Oceaneers gained a 1-0 victory over the Astros. The Oceaneers again edged the Astros on Saturday, in Providence.
The Oceaneers, meanwhile, will be playing the game without Captain Lenny Mole who was one of several players injured in last Saturday's face off.
ASL referee-in-chief Pat Smith of Ohio has assigned Hans Schwink to referee the playoff game.
George Patrick Duffy, general manager of the Oceaneers, noting that Astro rivals have reached the point where "they will try anything to beat the Oceaneers" further stated "I've had some information passed to me that Boston might try to sneak a few Brazilian "ringers" into the playoff tilt
Sounds crazy, but today when I called the Boston Astros' office, the secretary said "Mr. Bertos, (Astros' GM) is in Brazil."
